The other person sees no name, no handle and no profile. What they cannot do is come back after being reported. Every session is tied to a real account, bans are enforced when you are matched rather than when a page renders, and two people who ended in a report are never matched again. Anonymity is what makes a stranger conversation worth having; accountability is what stops it becoming the thing that killed the last one.

Why there is no guest mode

A throwaway session is free to make, which means a ban costs nothing and moderation achieves nothing. Requiring an account is not friction we failed to remove — it is the single control that makes every other control work. There will never be a guest mode.

Text first, video when you want it

Text costs nothing to enter and is where most conversations are better anyway. Video is there when both people want it, with automated checks on the frames and a report button that ends the session and keeps the evidence.

Nothing is sold here

No subscription, no tokens, no paid tier. A paywall on a product like this filters out casual users and keeps the determined ones, which is precisely the wrong selection. The account at the door is the only gate, and it is not a payment.
